In 2021, HSBC joined up with Beijing Entrepreneur Environmental Protection Foundation (SEE Foundation), World Resource Institute (WRI), World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and other environmental partners to launch a series of philanthropic initiatives on the sustainability transitional pathways for different sectors, standard-setting and resource optimization, in order to accelerate low carbon technology innovation and help build green supply chains.

HSBC has been partnering with environmental NGOs in initiatives for ecosystem restoration and sustainable palm oil advocacy, in order to enhance biodiversity, create a stable ecosystem and facilitate Earth’s environmental recovery.
Low-Carbon Technology Innovation
Since 2018, HSBC has been partnering with local NGOs in implementing the HSBC China Social Enterprise Support and Incubation Programme to promote the development of social enterprises in China by leveraging the bank's financial expertise and experience in serving SMEs.
